While checking out at the register at the City Acres Market, the clerk glanced at my sandwich and asked if it was my first time trying Cinnamon Snail. I paused before swiping my card. I glanced up:
No, my friend. This is probably like my millionth time. I’m Cinnamon Snail stalker.
Creeped out but still polite, he handed me the receipt and I proceeded to the seating area to devour my handcrafted, Basil Grilled Tofu Bahn Mi sandwich. UGHHH…it was so good. The tofu marinated nicely under the jalapenos, scallions and wasabi mayo. If you’re like me and avoid wasabi unless you’re in a quarantine suit, CHILLAX. The wasabi taste was VERY subtle. There must of been like .0000000000000000000000000000000001 of a fraction in there. I was coming off a nasty cold so it was just enough to clear my sinuses. I could smell the butt of New York again.
For those who don’t know, Cinnamon Snail is the king (or queen) of the vegan food game. Agree with me or I will hold a food grudge for the rest of my life. It’s that good. Starting from a single food truck, they’ve built a fan base big enough to sustain two permanent store fronts. One by Penn Station (The Pennsy) and one at the City Acres Market. There’s quite a few vegan/vegetarian spots in NYC but Cinnamon Snail is on a league of it’s own. To my fellow carnivores: a tasty meatless sandwich does exist and yes, you can enjoy a plant-based meal and feel extremely satisfied. Cinnamon Snail is magic. I’m not sure what law of physics come to play, but vegan sandwiches are not meant to be this good. Their sandwiches are DEE-VINE and SEXY. So sexy that Trump could have a non-disclosed scandal with one of their sandwiches and I would totally accept her as a first lady.
