My friends, if you don’t already know, Bareburger is my one and only, so when Shake Shack decided to open a new location across the street from my beloved spot in Forest Hills, I thought:
OH NO. THEY NASTY.
I had banned the chain…but one week at work, I decided to take my interns out to lunch on their last day and when I had asked them to choose, guess where they picked. I couldn’t say no and decided that as long as I was there, might as well do some “research”.
So, this is my story…GONK GONK.
Verdict: Good but not mind-blowing. This is what drives me nuts about Shake Shack: It doesn’t matter what time or which location you go. At 5 am on the moon, there will ALWAYS be a line at Shake Shack. Is it worth waiting 30 minutes to 45 minutes? No, but I will say waiting to eat at Shake Shack is more of a “New Yorker experience” than actually eating the food.
